Constant discussions on how there is nothing meaningful to discuss anymore. Topics raised and lowered without so much as a backwards glance. Cartoon figures of speech which make implied comparisons between things that aren't even remotely alike. Plus ruts. Lots of ruts. And a buncha old home movies from the 70s.

Currently in a rut, but it's a good rut; as far as ruts go. Although a rut is usually considered a less than satisfying place to be stuck, it can actually have many fine qualities often misunderstood by the non-rut dwelling populace. To tell someone that you are 'stuck in a rut' these days is not at all what it may have suggested in years past. Just as 50 is the new 40 when it comes to aging. The modern rut can be a source of familiarity and repose. A retreat from the hectic world surrounding us on all sides. One man's rut is another man's sanctuary.
